SHOOTING INCIDENT AT AVIGNON MOSQUE, FRANCE.

A shooting incident took place in Avignon, Provence, at about 10.30pm on Sunday night July 2, 2017. According to the officials who responded at the incident, the crowd fled in panic when the gunmen, armed with a handgun and a shotgun, started shooting.  According to the reports two gunmen attacked the mosque, One was armed with a handgun and the other with a rifle. Eight (8) civillians and a 7 year old were suffering the injuries acquired when they were escaping during the run. It was not believed to be terrorist-related, police have said, adding the mosque was not the intended target. The evidence so far points towards a gangland dispute between youths. Worshippers were said to have been leaving the mosque as the gunmen launched their attack, although a source claimed they were not the intended victims. A search for the two suspects is currently underway police have confirmed.
